WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Chances are you discovered hypnosis in childhood watching cartoons on television. The characters would become obedient and zombie-like. In real life, hypnosis doesn’t work that way. There is no loss of control or consciousness. You are fully aware and involved in the experience.

All hypnosis is actually self- hypnosis.

It is similar to a daydream only more focused. Your mind and imagination work like a magnifying glass tuning into yourself.

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

 The conscious mind (often described as left brain) is a great manager. It can get through ordinary challenges and experiences very competently. It is the planner and decision-maker using logic, language and your short-term memory. What it can not do is generate new identities or patterns beyond its own box.

The unconscious mind (often described as right brain) works differently. It doesn’t judge or try to figure things out. It is creative and innovative, intuitive and instinctual. As the largest and most dominant part of your mind, it is responsible for your memories, dreams, emotions, sensations and habits. It functions as the protector while automatically regulating all of your body’s functions.

In the hypnotic state, suggestions and imagery are experienced in a visceral and real way. As long as your conscious mind wants the change, your unconscious mind/body while listening closely begins to accept the suggestions as its new reality.
